Micro algae is a sign of a normal healthy aquarium. Too much can become an unsightly scene, however, if not kept in check. These snails and crabs have diets that are based on algae consumption. They don't disturb other reef inhabitants and have a relatively long life span. The Zebra Hermit Crabs are typically a little smaller than the Scarlets. Their markings are white and black and have similar behaviors as the Scarlets. Margarita Snails are constantly on the move in search of algae. Their black to mother-of-pearl shell is very attractive in the reef setting.
