Albino True Giant Gourami

First described by Lacepede in 1802 as Osphronemus gorami, this is the Albino form of the Giant Gouramis. Growing to an impressive 27 inches in length, this fish is found in the wild in China, India and Malaysia. The males will have a pointed end to the dorsal and anal fins, but this fish is rarely spawned in the home aquarium. As its size dictates, the Albino Giant Gouramis requires a large aquarium. They prefer floating plants and will eat most anything you feed, including smaller fish. While it is not overly aggressive, they can be kept with larger cichlids. The Albino will have mostly white coloration with tinges of silver/gray striping. As they mature, they will develop a thicken lip and gray head. When it spawns, it is a bubble nest builder, using small pieces of plant material and air bubbles.

Approximate Arrival Size for Albino True Giant Gourami: 1 to 2.5 in.
