Corn snakes have a lifespan of twelve to twenty five years, making this beautiful snake long lived if properly cared for. Corn snakes are thin bodied, and are also quick when they want to be so like all snakes they should be kept in a habitat without any holes to possibly escape from. Corn snakes will need to be fed mice of the appropriate size for the animal. Usually at shipping size appropriate food size will be pinky mice. Regular handling of these snakes will help keep them tame and passive pets.
