The Mystery Snail, also known as an Apple Snail, are among the most colorful of Apple Snail species and exist in a number of colors. These snails grow much better in water with a PH closer to 8.0, rather than a very low PH. These snails are not asexual, it does require both a male and female snail to produce eggs, so there is less worry about having snails overrun an aquarium via reproduction. The Mystery Snail is a good eater and will eat fish food as well as fresh vegetables such as cucumber slices. If keeping one of these snails, it needs to be fed, it will not do well if left to only eat what it can scavenge from the aquarium. Tank mates for these snails should be peaceful fish such as Tetras, Platies, Danios, Corydoras Catfish, and Guppies.
